Moisturizers on My Wishlist

I’m not your makeup everyday type of girl. I’m simply too lazy to put on makeup and besides it doesn’t really make me feel comfortable. My skin is very sensitive and one way of taking care of it is to avoid putting on much makeup whenever I can. I feel like I’m doing my skin a favor by not abusing it much. And besides whenever I have full makeup for some reason I feel like I’m someone walking around with led light bulb on top of my head. Like my face is too prominent. Lol.

I know it sounds irrational but that’s how I feel. My mini aversion to makeup doesn’t extend to moisturizers though. After all our skin needs it badly. Specially when I live in the tropics where the skin tends to be dehydrated fast. So I always need a moisturizer on hand.

And I always love to try new products. Here’s some on my wishlist:

Ahava Mineral Botanic Lotion

AHAVA Mineral Botanic Lotion in Honeysuckle and Lavender – I’m curious to try out the Ahava’s Bestselling Botanic Mineral Line. And the ‘flavors’ seem so yummy and luscious! And this one’s made for those with sensitive skin. Available at Lord & Taylor for $26.

Victoria Secret Tahiti Forever Lotion

Victoria’s Secret Limited Edition Tahiti Forever Hydrating Body Lotion – seems so yummy smelling. It has white jasmine and frangipani fragrance notes so its bound to be heavenly smelling. Available at Victoria’s Secret for $12.

Avon Mark Glow Moisturizer

Avon’s mark Glow it All Gradual Glow Body Moisturizer – for those days I want to have a bit of golden glow to my skin. All day moisturizer and skin tinter. Buy at Avon for $14.

There goes my moisturizer bucket list for this month. ;P

Twitter Mad

That’s me. Is it rather late to be a twitter addict? Lol.

I must admit to being a late bloomer when it comes to twitter. It’s simply because Facebook caught me first and I’m still on Facebook but now on very limited doses. Sometimes it takes weeks in between my Facebook updates. I just use it mainly for messaging friends and family. But that’s it. I rarely hang out on it anymore.

But its a different story with Twitter. I did sign up for an account a few years back but I just felt like I couldn’t say much with the character limits on every tweet. So my account went stale. Nonetheless, I added the twitter profile link to one of my blogs and for some reason people started following me.

And that got the ball rolling. What I like about it is that, I get to follow and connect with people who share similar interests as mine. Finding them can be hard in other social networks so when it comes to networking in terms of work, business and marketing, I really prefer Twitter.

I’m also a trend follower and when you’re on twitter you get to see what’s the hottest, trending topics. So if hydraulic hose is the latest trending topic, then chances are you’ll be in the news loop if you just follow what’s trending on twitter.

So far, I’ve been able to connect with blog readers, ask opinions and share thoughts with other bloggers. I’m just soo looking forward to unraveling what more it could for me and for the websites I manage.

Follow me on Twitter, just click on the cute little twitter button to your right and you can follow my blog tweets.

Goin’ Somewhere?

Nope. I’m not traveling somewhere, but I’m happy that I could now bring myself somewhere all by myself. I can now drive! Slowly that is. But were getting there. The thing I’m so ecstatic about is that, while I’ve been telling myself for years that I could never learn to drive, but I can and I did. Finally.

Driving on the Road

Sure I’m no formula one racer material and I would never for the life of me understand what 14250 battery is, but I sure am driving. And hubby and my cousins tell me I’m actually good. Ha! My sister told me, when she was learning to drive she hit more than five trees. And that should encourage me coz I have managed to drive around without hitting anything and anyone and I vow to keep that record.

My only problem now is parking backwards. I could do it, but not as straight as it should be and I get really scared if the space is small. I also have a bit of a problem when making a turn, but I guess I just need to get the hang of using the car. And hubby tells me I should get practice and learn to adjust with those zillion motorbikes zipping around Phnom Penh and drive around them.

Right now I could tolerate crazed motos in smaller doses but hopefully we’ll get to the part where I could drive like a pro. I still plan on enrolling on a driving school to polish things up and learn more rules. But right now, I’m just pleased.

Blue Japanese Wisteria Vine

I miss gardening.  One of the disadvantages of cramped city living. I grew up in a place with huge garden and my parents avid gardeners. I miss it alot and I have decided sometime in the next 10 years, I will get myself a bigger lot in the suburbs where I could garden till I turn blue.

Blue Japanese Wisteria Vine

So Pretty!!!

What got me in this state is this: Blue Japanese Wisteria Vine. Seeds available at Amazon.

I’m going to show this to my brother (who’s a lot more crazy about gardening than me!) and I’m sure he’ll be just as crazy. He loves vines and bonsai and this beauty will be perfect to make into a bonsai creation.

Sigh. Sigh. Sigh. This is just so beautiful.

Making a Pretty Home

Grown up things have been weighing on me. Hahaha. Nope, nothing serious. Just me and hubby thinking of home building and acquiring another lot for our ‘future retirement’. Things like this scare me. It’s a serious responsibility and the prospect of working for money to pay for these things is daunting. But I daresay not impossible. We’re a team and we could make things possible. I will always believe that and we are also more than willing to do hard work to achieve our goals.

First on the priority list would be building a new house on our current lot. This would be a temporary abode for us and we’re planning to convert the place into a flat for rent once we have a better place in the suburbs.

It’s not a huge place so we have to do a bit of planning to maximize the space. And I had also been looking at some furnishings and while I am salivating on luxury furniture collections like Ethan Allen‘s , I just had to accept that they don’t suit our place. Hahaha!

Luxury Furniture Collection

this is just gorgeous and screams luxury, opulence and style..

Also, I tend to favor modern contemporary furnishings and space saver concepts which we really need for our home. Nonetheless, I find these luxury European furnishings to die for. Gorgeous and elegant. It just makes me dream on and think hope that one day, I’ll have a place that would be fit to have fabulous pieces like that in the photo.

For now, I’ll go on working for that illusive millions. Wish me lots of luck!

Tunes I Heart: Rolling in the Deep by Adele

I can’t just get enough of listening to Adele. I think she is brilliant and I think its a normal thing to get goosebumps when listening to her sing. She’s got the voice. Not much digital editing needed, not much bling bling. But pure voice and musical goodness.

Rolling in the Deep by Adele

There’s a fire starting in my heart
Reaching a fever pitch, it’s bringing me out the dark
Finally I can see you crystal clear
Go ‘head and sell me out and I’ll lay your ship [shit] bare
See how I leave with every piece of you
Don’t underestimate the things that I will do

There’s a fire starting in my heart
Reaching a fever pitch
And it’s bringing me out the dark

Cute Pen & Paper Effect on Camera

I’m using three digital cameras now. Lol. As if the two can’t make me confused enough. Anyway, my Sony Cybershot has been acting up, all is working well except for the preview button, it keeps sticking. And its my favorite camera to use coz its easy to lug around and pretty much portable. Sigh.

The Fujifilm camera I just use when we travel coz its absolutely brilliant when it comes to capturing landscape sceneries. But its a bit bulky and a bit hassle to bring around like a DLSR.

So my sister gave me her mocha colored Olympus camera and its what I’ve been using for short time now. Its teeny weeny and so thin but takes nice photos, specially of food. I haven’t really explored its functions much but the other day I was playing around with it and it comes with loads of cute magic filters.

Olympus Camera Effect

Here’s one of my favorites – Pen & Ink Effect. I took a shot of the kiddo waiting for her school bus. I also took one of her close up but she didn’t like it, she says she looks weird like she’s wearing shoei helmets.

Cool, right? Nice to print out and color.

Gerbera Bloom in Sepia

I love photographs in sepia. For some reason I find them appealing and sooo timeless.  Thankfully I’m pretty adept in Photoshop so majority of photos I have I also apply some sepia filter. And I remembered I had been joining Sepia Scenes meme but the meme site hasn’t been updated for a couple of months already so I stopped posting sepias.

But then again, I still love sepia scenes so now I decided to post photos still even without the meme. My favorite photos to turn into sepias are usually nature shots, macro shots of flowers, rural scenery and structures. I specially love steel arch buildings turned into sepia. They are just a study in contrast – modern but old looking in photo.

Gerbera Bloom in Sepia

Today, though I’m posting a nice macro shot of a Gerbera flower. We were dining in a fast food restaurant and it was really nice that they had this little flower on a small vase adding a really homey touch to the ambiance.

My Current Favorite Thirst Quencher

I have this new obsession. Milk tea. Lol. It all started out when I decided to lower my coffee intake so I had to find out more alternatives to coffee. I could take decaff coffee but that’s still coffee.

I am already regularly drinking green tea, usually I buy dried tea leaves (jasmine flavored) and add in hot water. I would also usually brew one big pot daily and drink my fill.

But sometimes I want some variety when it comes to taste. So I tried out chai tea, and other milk tea variants. Love it! I bought several instant packs, I found some in the supermarkets imported from Singapore and Malaysia.

I just love the taste and lately I found myself ordering milk tea in coffee shops. Lol.

Thai Chai Latte with Cream

Here’s one I had at Black Canyon Coffee House, its Thai Chai Latte with Cream. Yummy, if sinful.
